Welcome to my website! I'm Teresa Phipps, a poet, writer, and web designer with a lifelong love of storytelling. My writing journey has taken me through decades of poetry, published articles, and copy editing projects that span genres and voices. In May 2025, I published my first poetry collection, Folded Beneath a Hurricane, a deeply personal book that gathers many of my previously published poems and explores themes of memory, loss, and resilience.

My poems have appeared in literary magazines like Facets, Anthology Magazine, the muse apprentice guild, and in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. From "Until the Carnival" to "How the Spiders Will Gossip," my work often reflects on the quiet, complicated spaces where inner and outer worlds meet. I've also written numerous newspaper and magazine articles on topics ranging from local history and community celebrations to women's stories and social justice.

In addition to writing, I offer professional copy editing services and have worked closely with authors to polish their books and prepare them for publication. I bring a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to every project, with an ear for rhythm and a deep respect for each writer's voice.

I'm also the owner of Hummingbird Design, where I create small websites for big dreams. Whether you're here to explore my poetry, review my published work, or learn more about my editing and design services, I'm glad you've stopped by. Welcome!
